Welcome to the herd!

My name is Berengere Ferrari (don’t panic, you can call me Bella).
I am a French national, married to an Italian and currently living in Houston, Texas.

How it all started

Discovering our (mine and my kids) zebraness was life changing. Finally, lots of feelings, thoughts, reactions I’ve had throughout my entire life made sense. I was no weirdo and most importantly I was not alone. Regarding my kids, it definitely gave me more keys to understand them. But parenting is not just about understanding, it’s hands-on practice. I have read many books and articles, listened to lots of podcasts, tried many things and failed many times (and I still do). I have found lots of resources and groups regarding how zebras can achieve academic success but when it comes to their hyper sensibility, hyper empathy, hypersensitivity, asynchronous development, difficulties to learn, tantrums, etc. is more difficult to find help (and understanding). I have felt alone, misunderstood (again…), because people don’t know what having a zebra really means and were unable to help me find solutions, in the best cases, or were judgemental in the worst. If I care about my kids education, their personal well-being is at the core of my preoccupation and I haven’t found the resources I needed. This is what Zebra Parenting is about: saving you time and energy by giving you tools, exercises, and methods to create the parenting style that feels good and work with your zebras.

About Me

Learning that you are a zebra is one thing, knowing how to deal with it is another. Along the way, I have found my own way to embrace my zebraness and it means being intellectually nurtured, physically active, emotionally and spiritually connected… on a daily basis.

It’s being a comedian, a vocalist, a stage director, an associate in a company that aims at combatting climate change, a certified professional coach and a yoga teacher. Believe it or not, this is how I find my balance!

How do you find yours? How do you help our kids find theirs?
